Welcome to the Gap of Dunloe, welcome to our new Heather Restaurant and finally welcome to our first blog!! Over the next few weeks we hope to share with you the trials, tribulations, plans and pictures around the creating of our new restaurant Heather. They say its all about location, location, location so I guess that’s as good a place as any to start our story.

The Gap of Dunloe is an old glacial valley running through the centre of the highest peaks in Ireland, the Mc Guilicuddy Reeks. It is a spectacular piece of landscape and it is to be the back garden of our new venture! It will be a big feature of this blog as we hope to include information on a variety of walking routes around the gap, seasonal photos of it from different points as well as a bit on its celtic origins and significance in history. Stay tuned!!
