Our Story
Opened as a small souvenir shop in 1964 by Michael and Margaret Moriarty, Moriarty’s has evolved to become one of Ireland’s leading gift stores.
Located at the entrance of the Gap of Dunloe just outside Killarney, it is a bright and spacious store which caters for large tour groups and individual shoppers alike, showcasing some of Ireland’s finest craftsmanship.
Moriarty’s specialises in the sale of traditional items such as handmade tweeds, knits and symbolic jewellery.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our goods and also – as importantly – our exemplary customer service. Our staff members have an average of over 20 years service with the family.
Moriarty’s is an Irish family business, we are proud to provide ethically sourced products, designed by Irish craft makers. We use 100% pure wool as it is the best fiber for low impact fashion.
We support Irish design in clothing and jewelry.

Fresh homegrown produce at Heather Restaurant
Our vision is to produce fresh, simply prepared, seasonal food.
Right beside our Gift Store, you can find Heather Restaurant. At Heather Restaurant we serve up fresh, homegrown produce picked daily from our gardens and polytunnel. We also source our food from local artisan food producers, organic farmers, and wild Atlantic seafood that the South West of Ireland has to offer. An added advantage for our customers is that they can see for themselves where our work in the garden translates to the restaurant’s menu. Heather is set on 5 acres of multi-level gardens with breathtaking views of the McGillycuddy Reeks.
